People have said that new laptops are coming out in September with Windows 7. Will these be better than the laptops on sale now? How about the price? I’m getting one either October or December? should I wait till December or October or buy one now. The laptop will be used for gaming.

Windows 7 comes out October 22.
You can buy laptops with Vista now many places and get a free upgrade to Windows 7 upon release.
Prices are going to vary. Some people are going to think it’s a good deal to get a computer with Vista and can upgrade to Windows 7 themselves. Some people are going to insist Windows 7 be installed for them and might be willing to skimp a little on the hardware to get it.
Prices tend to drop more for what you get the longer you wait, regardless of OS. You’re also likely to see sales for the holiday season (though there will of course be some back-to-school ones as well).
If it was me personally, I’d be holding out for SSD drives right now and the way their prices should be dropping by the holidays, and that would probably mean waiting if possible.
You also won’t see every single thing with Windows 7 pre-installed magically on October 22 — the upgrades from Vista will continue as things overlap. If you wait longer, you’re more likely to find more things with the new OS preinstalled so you don’t have to upgrade yourself, too.
